Veteran Student Success Center
We, the INDYCC family, would like to say, “THANK YOU.” You have made a significant sacrifice in serving our great country. It is with this appreciation that the Veteran Student Success Center staff would like to welcome you to our campus. INDYCC is a safe place for veteran transitions. Our support team understands the level of complexity, stress, and anxiety that is involved when a person transitions from the military and into the campus environment. Additionally, INDYCC was recently appointed as a “Purple Heart College” by the Military Order of the Purple Heart (MOPH). This classification is in recognition of the support for military members, including veterans and their families. ICC has also earned the designation of “Military Friendly School”. With the added GREEN ZONE ADVOCACY TRAINING offered for the ICC faculty, staff and student body, our campus is fast becoming a “more military-familiar” campus as well. We intend to offer all military-affiliated students, with the most productive and effective services possible to assist you in preparing for and applying to our college. Again, thank you, and please consider allowing us to be of service to you!
Our Program
The Center of Excellence for Veteran Student Success (CEVSS)’s mission is to support student veterans in achieving their academic, career, and personal goals. Made possible by a Department of Education Fund for the Improvement of Post-Secondary Education (FIPSE) grant, the evolving success center at INDYCC serves as a focal point for veteran students focusing on four key areas: 1) recruiting more veteran students and aiding their transition to campus life, 2) increasing their retention and persistency, 3) completing degrees, certificate programs or entering their chosen career fields, and 4) and/or transferring to four-year colleges/universities. With dedicated support staff, the Veteran Student Success Center provides veteran students, currently active, National Guard, Reservists, and military dependents with access to all campus and community support resources that will be key to overcoming any barriers to college success.
