ICC will host its Distinguished Alumni Luncheon on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at the Independence Country Club, honoring Brad Underwood as the College’s 2026 Distinguished Alumnus.

The event will celebrate Underwood’s achievements and recognize his outstanding contributions to his profession, as well as the lasting impact of his connection to ICC. Alumni, community members, and supporters are invited to attend and join in honoring one of ICC’s most notable graduates.

Underwood, a former ICC student, is a nationally recognized leader in collegiate athletics and currently serves as head men’s basketball coach at the University of Illinois. Known for his leadership, competitive success, and commitment to student-athlete development, Underwood has made a significant impact at every level of his career.

“His dedication, work ethic, and success reflect the values we strive to instill in all of our students,” said Cody Oates, Executive Director of the ICC Foundation. “Brad’s journey is a powerful example of what can grow from an ICC education, and we are proud to recognize him as this year’s Distinguished Alumnus and celebrate the impact he continues to make both on and off the court.”

The Distinguished Alumni Luncheon is an opportunity for ICC to recognize alumni who have achieved excellence in their careers while maintaining a strong connection to the College and its mission.

The luncheon will take place at the Independence Country Club, located at 2824 Country Club Circle in Independence. Guests are encouraged to RSVP by May 12, 2026.
