Financial Aid
Financial Aid
Paying for college doesn’t have to be overwhelming. At Independence Community College, financial aid includes grants, scholarships, work-study, and loans that can lower or even cover your costs. The first step is to complete the FAFSA, which determines what you qualify for. Once you submit your FAFSA, our team will guide you through your options and help you make college affordable.
Types of Financial Aid
By filing the FAFSA, you could be eligible for in Kansas:
- Grants - federal financial aid, such as the Federal Pell Grant, that does not have to be repaid
- Scholarships - institutional financial aid that does not have to be repaid
- Work-study opportunities - part-time employment that helps finance your education
- Loans - borrowed money that must be repaid with interest
Important: FAFSA isn’t the money itself. It’s the application that determines what you qualify for, including federal, state, and even college-specific aid.
