Independence Community College's Indy Connect program is inviting community members to explore their creativity this fall through a 12-session Community Ceramics Class designed for adults of all experience levels.

Beginning Monday, August 24, the class will meet from 6 to 9 p.m. each Monday through November 16, 2026. There will be no class on Labor Day. Whether participants are picking up clay for the first time or returning to a favorite hobby, the course offers a welcoming environment to learn hand-building and pottery techniques while creating unique ceramic pieces.

The registration fee is $175 per person and includes 25 pounds of clay, glaze, and all necessary materials. Additional clay will be available for purchase as needed.

The class is open to adults 18 years and older, and all skill levels are encouraged to participate. Space is limited.

"Ceramics is one of those rare art forms that allows people to slow down, work with their hands, and create something that's uniquely their own," said instructor Luke Blevins. "Whether you've never touched clay before or have years of experience, this class is designed to help you build your skills, enjoy the creative process, and become part of a welcoming studio community."
