The ICC Cosmetology Department will host a Free Haircut Day on Wednesday, October 8, at Salon West at the ICC West Campus. Community members are invited to make appointments from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and again from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The event not only provides a no-cost service to the community but also gives ICC Cosmetology students valuable hands-on experience. By serving real clients in a professional salon setting, students practice the skills they’ll use every day in their careers. This helps students build confidence while learning the ins and outs of running a storefront.
“This is such a meaningful opportunity for our students,” said Chelsea Bailey, ICC Cosmetology Program Director. “They get to refine their technical skills, interact with clients, and experience what it’s like to manage a busy salon. At the same time, we love being able to give back to the community that supports our program.”
Salon West, located at ICC West Campus, is operated by ICC Cosmetology students under the guidance of licensed instructors. Services like haircuts, color, and styling are offered throughout the year at discounted rates, with Free Haircut Days being a special way to thank the community for its support.
