The college is proud to recognize Reyna Edwards, a sophomore women’s basketball player from Ferris, Texas, as the October Student of the Month.

Edwards exemplifies the true spirit of leadership, service, and excellence both on and off the court. In addition to being a dedicated student-athlete, she currently serves as Student Government Association President and Residence Life Manager, where she is known for her strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to helping others.

“Reyna is an amazing girl! She has such a great attitude towards anything that is thrown at her,” said Jeanna Cole, Residence Hall Director. “Reyna goes above and beyond with everything she is tasked to do. I am so lucky to have her in the dorms!”

Beyond her leadership and athletic achievements, Reyna has her sights set on a future in veterinary medicine and plans to continue her education after ICC to pursue vet school.

Edwards was formally recognized at the October ICC Board of Trustees meeting, where college leadership commended her for her exceptional contributions to the campus community and her embodiment of ICC’s core values.

“Reyna’s drive, positivity, and compassion are what make her stand out,” said Erica Cope, ICC Student Life Manager. “She’s a leader who uplifts others, and we’re proud to have her as part of the Pirate family.”
