The Independence Community College Theatre Department has announced its 2026–27 season, bringing four distinctive productions to the stage throughout the academic year.

The season will feature Little Women by Kate Hamill, Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl, Alice by Heart by Steven Sater, Jessie Nelson and Duncan Sheik, and the annual Inge Festival Production.

From a beloved literary classic to imaginative contemporary works, this year's lineup will give ICC students the opportunity to explore a wide range of characters, stories and theatrical styles while offering audiences four unique experiences throughout the year.

"This year, ICC Theatre is exploring the power of storytelling to bring people together. Whether audiences encounter these stories for the first time or revisit a classic, we are thrilled to invite everyone to experience them as part of the ICC community,” ICC Theatre Director Cooper Sivara said. “The shows offer our students opportunities to grow and develop their crafts onstage and backstage, and their hard work will undoubtedly pay off in uniquely creative choices. Please join us for all of the shows this season!"

Little Women | October 8–11, 2026

ICC Theatre will open the season with Kate Hamill’s adaptation of Little Women, directed by Cooper Sivara.

Friday, Oct. 9: 7pm
Saturday, Oct. 10: 7pm
Sunday, Oct. 11: 2pm

Eurydice | November 19–22, 2026

A reimagining of the Greek myth of Orpheus told through the eyes of Eurydice, the play explores love, loss, memory and the difficult choice between holding on and letting go.

Performances will be held in the William Inge Theatre at:
Friday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m.
Sunday, Nov. 22 at 2 p.m.

Alice by Heart | March 11–14, 2027

ICC Theatre will return in the spring with Alice by Heart by Steven Sater, Jessie Nelson and Duncan Sheik.

Inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, the musical uses the familiar world of Alice as the backdrop for a story of imagination, friendship, loss and finding a way forward.

Inge Festival Production | April 29–May 1, 2027

The 2026–27 season will conclude April 29 through May 1 with ICC Theatre’s Inge Festival Production.

The annual production continues ICC’s connection to the William Inge Theatre Festival and provides students another opportunity to take part in a theatrical experience celebrating storytelling and the arts in Independence.

Additional information, including performance times and details for the spring productions, will be announced closer to each show.
