The Pirate Cosmetology Program has added cutting-edge salon technology to its classrooms with the installation of the LG CHI Color Master Factory, making ICC the first cosmetology program in Kansas to offer this advanced system to students.

The LG CHI Color Master Factory introduces a new way to formulate and mix hair color using digital precision. This innovative machine allows for highly accurate color formulations, reduces product waste, and provides students with hands-on experience using the same technology found in top-tier salons across the country.

The equipment was purchased through a Perkins grant, supporting ICC’s mission to enhance career and technical education through advanced, industry-relevant tools.

“The LG CHI Color Master Factory gives our students the chance to train on the same technology they’ll see in top-tier salons,” said Chelsey Bailey, ICC Cosmetology Program Director. “It elevates the learning experience, allows for cleaner and more accurate formulations, and prepares our students to walk into their careers with an edge. We’re incredibly proud to be the first program in Kansas to offer this.”

By incorporating advanced salon technology into the curriculum, ICC continues to ensure its cosmetology students are prepared for the evolving demands of the beauty industry while gaining valuable real-world experience before graduation.
